Editor

Editing is where Duarte's practice began, and it continues to inform everything he does. Having collaborated with filmmakers including Pedro Costa, Welket Bungué, and Miguel Gonçalves Mendes.

He sees editing as more than assembly — it's the final act of writing, where rhythm, silence, and emotion find their place.

Duarte Pedroso de Lima graduated in Film Editing from Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in 2015.

For over a decade has worked in internationally acclaimed projects, with varying roles in different genres, such as narrative Film, Music Videos, Commercials and TV.

Whatever the role, his work is driven by the same interest: understanding how stories are built, shaped, and ultimately experienced.

Varying positions as an AD, Duarte has worked across feature and short films, music videos, and international commercial campaigns.

He approaches the role as the bridge between creative ambition and practical execution, helping productions move with precision while protecting the director's vision.

Directing is where his experience comes together.

Shaped by years in the edit suite and on set, Duarte's filmmaking is guided by structure, rhythm, and performance — always searching for the simplest and most honest way to tell a story.
